Self preservation, best Decepticon reason ever. =D Sure, he's batshit, but you wanna be the one who tells him that? Just make Cyclonus do it. Starscream made for a very good object lesson there. The guy survived betraying Megatron, got shot and/or beat up on a regular basis... and Galvatron obliterated him in a single shot. Disintegrated, nothing left. Who wants to step up after that?
